We have a few big fans of Bellroy here in the Feel Desain office, and we thought it was only fair that we shared this awesome Australian brand with you. Bellroy was kind enough to send us a couple of their products to try, including the Coin Fold slim leather wallet, which we tested out in two colours: Java (brown with contrasting stitching and a lighter interior) and Black. It is also available in Tamarillo and Blue Steel.
As soon as we opened the package, we could see that the wallets were of the high quality that we’ve come to expect from Bellroy. The leather looks and feels very new, but will age well (the brand takes pride in creating products which last). Bellroy’s focus is on creating high quality wallets which are not bulky. One way the Coin Fold wallet saves space is with the addition of a hidden coin pouch which makes sure your coins are always kept flat. When you open the wallet, you can pinch to open the coin pouch, which pours your coins onto a small “tray”, from which you can take what you need and pour the rest back. The coins don’t fall out if you don’t pinch as there’s a little leather flap holding them in. There are three card slots, each of which can fit a couple of cards inside. This means there’s plenty of space for the necessary items, but you won’t be able to create a card collection like you would in a chunkier wallet (by no means a bad thing). There’s a fabric-lined banknote pouch which also includes a tiny slot for carrying an extra SIM card around, and the whole thing closes with a little leather latch.
